Damian has received one of five prestigious Alberta Innovates Graduate Student Scholarships this year at the University of Lethbridge for his M.Sc. studies in tRNA modifications and protein engineering.
This summer, the Kothe group carefully discussed our values and understandings regarding equity, diversity and inclusion taking an inter-sectional approach. As a result, we adopted a poster expressing our values and reflecting our context in Alberta, Canada. We hope that our discussions and our poster can inspire others to increase awareness and conscious action towards equity, diversity and inclusion.
On RNA Day 2019, i.e. August 1st 2019, all members of the Kothe lab signed our first Lab Manual!
We are very proud of this document that we have collectively developed over the summer in several team lunch meetings. Together, we have defined our goals and vision on how to interact as a product team of RNA researchers. And of course, we have tried to capture all these many previously unwritten rules and pieces of wisdom to make life much easier for new lab members in the future.
Check it out, but please don't copy without asking us for permission first. Thank you!
The Kothe lab is part of the NSERC Create training program RNA Innovation. Through this state-of-the-art competitive training program focussed in particular on graduate students, you can gain experience in RNA research AND in industry.
