Cinema 3850 - Narrative Development and Preproduction

An exploration of script writing and the creative and practical processes necessary to facilitate preproduction of narrative short films and episodic web series.

Cinema 4010 - Narrative Production Techniques

Credit hours: 3.0

An intensive exploration of the craft of short-form narrative cinema production, including methods in producing, directing, cinematography, and editing.

Prerequisite(s): One of Cinema 3010 or New Media 3420
Note: Studio course. Students enrolling in Cinema 4010 should have a short narrative screenplay ready for production (5-10 pages).

Cinema 4850 - Narrative Production Practicum

Credit hours: 3.0

An immersive exploration of the craft of narrative cinema production through participation in a faculty-supervised project, serving in at least one technical or organizational position. Students gain an understanding of the independent cinema production model by assisting in various capacities.

Prerequisite(s): Third-year standing, successful assignment to the crew of a faculty-supervised production and consent of the instructor.
