Carolyn is working towards her MSc in which she studies the toxicological effects of platinum group elements (PGEs) on aquatic organisms. She plans on investigating the concentrations at which PGEs cause chemosensory inhibition and related adverse behaviours in aquatic vertebrates, while also exploring potential mechanisms for olfactory disruption induced by these data poor metals.
