As part of the ongoing monitoring of glacier environment changes in the Rockies, Chris and students Tristan Goulden (PhD ABD, Dalhousie) and Reed Parsons (honours student, Lethbridge) visited the field camp at Peyto Glacier in July 2013 with Martin Isenburg (rapidlasso) and Mark Ednie (NRCan) to conduct GPS surveys in parallel with lidar and thermal image acquisitions over the glacial and periglacial environments. This was the latest in a long standing close collaboration with the Canadian glacier observation program led by the Geological Survey of Canada going back to 1995. Now that Chris' lab is in Alberta, research efforts at Peyto will be ramping in the near future.
