Not a lot has been going on since SICB as a result of a death in the family, health issues and the ongoing and insufferable move into the new Science and Academic Building (SAB). Currently, the lab is a giant pile of boxes and Ben, Felipe, Kelsey and Madison are spending most of their time seeking out bubble wrap, packing stuff and then unpacking stuff. Decidedly not the most productive summer.
On the plus side, the Canada Research Chair was renewed, allowing us to pursue some new research avenues. This will include the purchase of a new workstation and imaging software for analyzing microCT images, new projects with colleagues and the Smithsonian Institution and eventually working with goldfish, including the bizarre looking 'celestial' goldfish shown below (no, it was not Photoshopped).
