My research interests include, among other things, studies in social capital and voluntary participation, sport and physical activity, aging, social inequality and, more generally, quantitative methods.
I am currently working on two research projects. The first, using data from the General Social Survey on Time-Use, explores levels of sport participation in Canada before and after the 2010 Winter Olympic Games and examines whether the Games acted as a catalyst to increase mass sport participation among Canadians. The second is an investigation into the physical activity levels of Canadians over time, with a particular emphasis on changes in physical activity among older Canadians, using longitudinal data from the National Population Health Survey.
